Why this site was Created--Imagination
Journey of Hearts
A Healing Place in CyberSpaceTM

Imagination is more important than Knowledge.

Albert Einstein, 1879-1955

Imagination

After years of studying both graduate work and medical school, I found this quote by Albert Einstein, one of the great scientific minds of this century, to be very revealing and even more inspiring for my own journey in trying to decide what to do with my medical background.  The realization of the importance of imagination and the relation to knowledge, further supported the words of Oscar Arias.

The effect of one good-hearted person is incalculable.
Oscar Arias

In watching the reactions to Princess Diana's and Mother Teresa's Deaths, if made me realize the magnitude of effect a single good-hearted person can have. I have been accused of "caring too much" for my patients. I wanted to be able to put that "good- heart" to use.

Those that I have talked with about this website, have been enthusiastic and supportive. The common resonse is that's such a good idea, why hasn't any one done this sooner?

If only one single person is benefitted from the creation of this website, then we will have done what we set out to accomplish, amd the mere act of creating the site has already helped many on their own healing Journeys.
Many of the Alliance (who themselves have had many tragedies) have benefitted already in helping provide resources for this website, by being able to giving back contributing to the healing cycle in the creation of this site.
This site is the summation of many different tragedies and losses. the common theme linking all, anyone who has experienced a loss. What I find important in remembering about the dark times is a quote by Charles Beard, rembering that beautiful things can transpire and appear during times of darkness and loss.

When it is dark enough, you can see the stars.

Charles Beard

In creating this website, I am constantly reminded of the things that "count" and those that do not , I have to thank both those who supported me and those who did not, for each were motivators. I have to  remind myself to remain focused on the things that do count and let go of those which do not.

Not everything that counts can be counted.

Not everything that can be counted, counts.

Albert Einstein

A final quote in passing, to remind ourselves what is really important. In my case my something to be enthusiastic about is this website, the people we have reached and touched and helped already, and the ones yet to discover our healing place.

We act as though comfort and luxury
were the chief requirements of life,
when all that we need to make us happy
is something to be enthusiastic about.
Albert Einstein
