In this time of change and uncertainty,
I will focus on the present, the here and the now.
I will let past hurts and disappointments slip away.
I will free my mind of concerns and fears of the future, even if just for today.

In a time that is filled with hardship
I will focus what I have, not what I do not have.
I will count my many blessings.

If I feel dismayed about my losses or the losses of others
I will recognize that others have experienced loss and have survived.
I will reflect other difficult times and how I coped with them.

During this season if I find myself feeling down, or saddened by recent events
I will reach out to others in need.

In this time of world unease and our nation at unrest
I will remember the dark times faced by our country in the past and how we have emerged victorious.
I will listen to the stories of loss and courage and find hope.
I will hold fast to the strength of the human spirit to survive tragedies.

Facing days when cherished loved ones may no longer be with me
I will honor their memories by remembering them with joy and happiness, not with sorrow and tears.
I will heed the words of one lost this year knowing that "All things must pass away."

During this holiday season in a world forever changed
I will remember what the events of this year have taught me:

To cherish the time spent with loved ones.
Life is precious.
And perhaps most of all just "how fragile we are..."
