I have watched the events of
the last week with a saddened, heavy heart. The President declaring war,
and at war with the congress, bombs landing in Iraq killing many innocent
people, on the verge of their holy days, and our country so much in dis-ease
from all of the events. It makes me wonder what we are really doing as
a country and as a people.
Perhaps now, in this holiday
of Peace on Earth, Good Will toward Men, we really need to look at the
meaning of these words:
This year more than most, we have to answer, "YES!"
Wishing you and yours peace in this Holiday Season. This year this Blessing seems to take on a very different and a more concerning meaning.
Peace on Earth. This is perhaps
my all time favorite Christmas Carol. The song is from an obscure Bing
Crosby Christmas special (circa 1977 )where we have the unlikely duet of
Bing and a young David Bowie. I had tried several times to get the sheet
music, without much success. Two years ago, Starbucks included it on their
Christmas C.D., so at last I was able to get the words.
These sentiments are good reminders
of the true spirit of the holidays, perhaps the greatest gift we can pass
on to each other and to our children....
Peace on Earth
Can it be?
Every child must be made aware
Every child must be made
to care
Care enough for his fellow
man
To give all the love that
he can.
I pray my wish will come true
For my child and your child
too
He'll see the day of Glory
He'll see the day when men
of good will
Live in Peace again.
Peace on Earth
Can it Be?
Can it Be?
This quote was sent by a visitor to the site, who describes himself as "only a tiny candle, in a dim world." Yet he recommends the Journey of Hearts site to all I know. "Your Emergency Pick MeUp Kit, is constantly on my lips, from all who have suffered a loss." This quote underscores one of the truths that I strive for...it is more important learn how "to be" than to keep striving "to have." I believe that the striving "to have" contributes much to the dis-ease.
If
there is to be
any peace in this world, it will come from being and not having. Author

Remember that many small candles when put together can create a great light.
This is the same sentiment expressed in the Butterfly wing. Never underestimate the power of one voice, the wind from a butterfly's wind or the light from one dim candle.
That dim candle may be what lights the pathway enough to pull someone out from the darkness.
