On special occasions--birthdays, anniversaries, holidays--buy a gift in
memory of the Lost Loved One and donate it.
Donate you time to helping the Hungry, the Homeless, and others less fortunate
during the Holidays and other times.
Plant
a tree, a bush, a flower in a Loved One's name.
Buy
a special ornament to hang on the Christmas tree.
Fill
a Christmas Stocking with notes to the Lost Loved One.
Light a special candle on Birthdays, Anniversaries and Holidays.
A beautiful suggestion, and symbolic of the change, have wedding rings
melted down and redesigned as another ring, a pin or a pendant. This way
you have the memory of what was, with the symbolism of the change.
Hold a party on their birthday, or as a recent T.V. Dateline show on Holidays
and Healing suggested, Holding a birthday party at the Cemetary.
Create
handprints (if possible) for 'holding.'
Stuff an old T-shirt.
Create
tiles for a bench, or a playground.
Make
a Teddy bear, or other stuffed toy with pieces from a favorite article
of clothing.
