Karen T. Coutermarsh Fahel has
contributed several poems to the site, Butterflies
and several that are in the archives waiting to be added. She sent one,
Loneliness, from her brother Peter, which was
written exactly one month, almost to the day, before he died from suicide.
This poem, The Seedling, was
written in the aftermath of a sudden notification of being forced to move
from their home. Their uprooting has been like the seedling, cast to the
wind with no control over its' direction.
2/1 Just a short note to let y'all know that we are safe. We have shelter and have started looking for a new apartment. Once again, we wish to thank all of you for your support, warm thoughts and prayers. We've needed every little bit of it. Thank you, thank you, a million times thank you.
2/4 With the poem - Although
the poem has a happy ending (I can end them no other way) we still have
a long way to go before we find our happy ending.
Is there any way I can still
get the Journey of Hearts updates sent to this e-mail address while our
home computer is all packed away? We still like knowing what's up.
We want to thank you again for just having that site. During our
current tragedy we managed to utilize it a few times before packing it
up. Keep up the wonderful work you do, and don't be afraid to drop us a
quick note here occasionally.
I discovered, some time ago, another on-line resource, the Dream Garden, that was an appropriate tie-in with finding a place to plant a seed. In the Dream Garden one can plant a dream seed and let it grow...
The Dream Garden, part of the Inspirational Center, is a place where people can 'plant' their dream seeds. These seeds can be whatever aspirations, dreams, hopes, or visions that one might want to achieve in their life time.
In this part of the Inspirational
Center, visitors can put their dreams into words, but first they need to
find a dream. The garden is designed so one can leave a note, short poem,
be direct or use a metaphor, or just a single statement that you have planted
a dream seed. Find a dream and put it to words or to symbols and 'plant'
it in their garden. Be patient and be loving.
Some sage words from the site:
"If you don't think that your seed is growing fast enough, take a seat
in the garden, relax your body and mind, and give it a few unconditional
and loving thoughts. If you open yourself, your seed will let you know
what it may need. Remember, depending upon what you have planted, it may
need to send roots into the ground for a super-stabilizing force... Let
it be!"
Every stage in the growth of
the dream seed is a miracle. It is a journey of creation, that must be
feed, watered, and nurtured with words of encouragement, until finally
it is mature and can be harvested.
