This song by Mariah Carey
and Boys to Men was one that was used at a Remembrance Service that I organized
as a Senior Resident Physician-in-Training. The song was suggested by one
of the Clerks from the Oncology Ward at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara,
who had seen her share of losses with patients and their family members.
This is one of those songs that conveys the "if only's" all the things that you never get a chance to say. The message for me in the song is to remember to tell people how you feel about them, because life is too short and unpredictable to wait for "One Sweet Day" to tell them..... |
All I wanted to say Now it's too late to hold you 'Cause you've flown away So far away. Never had I imagined
And I know you're shining down
on me from Heaven
Darling, I never showed you
And I know you're shining down
on me from Heaven
Although the sun will shine the
same
And I know you're shining down
on me from Heaven
Sorry I never told you
