Journey of Hearts^TM Award Highlights

The Website
Over the years in addition to all of the personal commendations and positive notes of thanks from numerous visitors to the site, Journey of Hearts^TM has garnered a variety of awards or special recognitions (nearly 70) in our soon to be 5 years on the Internet. The awards have been presented in a variety of different categories: medical, nursing, health care, emergency services, psychiatry, bereavement inspirational, and web design.

Notably over the years the site has been a USA Today Hot Site and a California Nurses Association Pick of the Week. Additionally the website has been listed in Forbes Best of the Web Spring 2002, received the Editor's Choice Award from HealingWell.com, the Best of the Net Award from the Mining Company, a Medsite Gold Award for a Hot Medsite, a Featured site on Health AtoZ, a Best of the Web-4advice, a Medical Award from Med 411, a Top 25 Links by US Medical Students Website, a Healthlinks Select site, a Mental Health New Award, a Supportive Souls Award, a Bright Spot On The Web Award and a Mental Health Net Award.

The website was a competing IT (Information Technology) project in the Stockholm Challenge Award 2000. Journey of Hearts^TM was entered as in the Health and Quality of Life Category. The Journey of Hearts^TM site was nominated for The President's Service Award with The Points of Light Foundation 1999, 2000. The site was entered for addressing the often-neglected areas of medicine—grief, loss and depression, areas that affect patients, and millions of others worldwide. In particular it was entered for the hundreds of volunteer hours donated to create the website.

The Domain Designer
In addition, Dr. Dyer has received several awards, or has been nominated for her innovative online work with Journey of Hearts.^TM 

Dr. Dyer received the prestegious AMA-YPS Community Service Award and the Physician Recognition Award in Continuing Medical education with Commendation for Self Directed Learning from the American Medical Association. The Young Physicians Section Community Service Award was given in recognition of the hard work in developing the Journey of Hearts^TM and The Medical Oasis websites, as "an excellent example of the achievements young physicians can make in the community."

In 1998 Dr. Dyer received the Extreme Woman Award from the Extreme Women website in recognition for the work done with Journey of Hearts.^TM  In 2000 she was nominated for the Temple Awards for Creative Altruism 2000 with the Institute for Noetic Sciences, as a perfect example of altruistic activity that is reaching out and helping both American society and the international communities. In 2001 Dr. Dyer was nominated for Top 25 Women on the Web, 2001, for her beneficial, innovative work with Journey of Hearts.^TM

Somehow I can't believe that there are any heights that can't be scaled by a man who knows the secrets of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C's. They are curiosity, confidence, courage, and constancy, and the greatest of all is confidence. When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable.
